The knitted pumpkins have been made in oatmeal and grey marble (large), fisherman and spice (medium), and spice (small). All you need are a few materials to get started, I just used scraps from my yarn stash, including yarn leftover from other projects. There are three sizes to make, small, medium, and large.

Both pumpkins are knit up using the same pattern, just different needle sizes. The large one measures approximately 6″ in diameter and is knit with 2 strands of worsted weight wool on size US10 (6mm) needles and the smaller one is knit with 1 strand of worsted weight on US7 (4.5mm) needles and is approximately 5″ in diameter.

How To Knit A Pumpkin When I decided to craft some small knit pumpkins, I opted to create a knit pumpkin pattern in the round using circular needles. Using circular needles creates a seamless piece which sounded good to me. I also decided to create some "ribs" in the pattern by doing a purl stitch every 8 stitches.
